Description

Make the perfect Cookie Cake with easy recipes, decorating tips, and storage tricks. A crowd-pleasing dessert for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (230g) unsalted butter, softened

  • ¾ cup (150g) granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar, packed

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups (350g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • Optional: ½ cup sprinkles, M&Ms, or nuts for topping

Instructions

  1. Prep Time: 15 minutes

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Grease a 12-inch round cake pan or pizza pan with butter or non-stick spray. Optionally, line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. Mix the Dough:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

    • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

    • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

    • Fold in the chocolate chips (and any optional add-ins) using a spatula.

  3. Bake the Cookie Cake:

    • Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan, ensuring it reaches the edges and is about ½ inch thick.

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft.

  4. Cool and Serve:

    • Allow the cookie cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

    • Decorate with frosting, sprinkles, or a dusting of powdered sugar if desired. Slice and serve!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover cookie cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.

  • Reheating: Warm slices in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for 5 minutes.

  • Customization: Swap chocolate chips for white chocolate, butterscotch, or peanut butter chips. Add nuts, dried fruit, or caramel bits for extra flavor.

  • Dietary Adjustments: For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. For a vegan version, use plant-based butter, flax eggs, and dairy-free chocolate chips.
